I started my journey with Lamar because I needed to renew my teaching certificate. I only had my bachelors so I decided to make use of my needed credits and turn it into a masters instead. I researched many options for a masters degree and Lamar's M.Ed. in Digital Learning and Leading (DLL) stuck out. I felt it was something unique and luckily for me another colleague thought that as well so we ventured into the unknown together. The journey has been an unforgettable one as I learned about the COVA approach and many more learning approaches. If you want to follow along with me on My Journey, my reflection of the DLL program and all of my work I have created in the program please keep checking in on this page as I will update it as I go along in the program. The links at the bottom of the page will take you to my completed work.

My Work
1 : Power of the Growth Mindset:
Develop a plan that introduces the fundamental ideas introduced by Dweck as you develop and
support a growth mindset in yourself and in others within your organization.
2. Learning Manifesto Assignment: Create a learning manifesto that articulates your belief systems and set of guiding principles as it relates to digital learning and leading in your chosen field.
3. Eportfolio: The eportfolio you will prepare will consist of examples of your evidence of learning, which shows how you address learning outcomes and how you connect and present this evidence in a cohesive format.
4. Disruptive Innovation in Education: In this assignment, you are to articulate your understanding of how a disruptive innovation can be used to impact and change your organization.
5. STEAM Innovation
6. Literature Review: The Internet age has brought about an overabundance of literature on almost every subject. The challenge is no longer finding the information but being able to sift through enormous amounts of information and assess what is valuable and what is not. When you are looking for trends it is important to find longitudinal research and reports that help you identify patterns or trends that will reveal which innovations are truly disruptive.
Instructions: Using the assigned module readings as a starting point, compile a literature review that supports your innovation proposal/plan and that will help you share what you have learned with your colleagues and community.
7. Learning from Learners: From your review of the sites and case studies in Step 1 and from using the ideas gleaned from your literature review, develop an implementation outline for your innovation plan. At this point in your studies we do not expect you to have fully detailed and complete report or implementation plan. You do have enough information to develop an implementation outline that provides significant details for the first year of your plan and then a more general or broad overview of the following months or year(s).
8: What's Your Why: In this assignment, you are to create a Why statement that helps promote the significance of your innovation plan, speaks to the hearts of your stakeholders, and helps to establish a sense of urgency. You will also need to include a How and What statement that will address the process and your result.
9: Influencer Strategy: In this assignment, you are to develop an influencer strategy to implement the innovation plan that you are planning on using to bring about change in your organization. The focus must be on changing your organization NOT your classroom.
10: Installing 4DX with Your Organization: Using Sections 1 & 2 in the 4DX text you are to develop a 4DX strategy/plan for your work team or colleagues that will address how you will implement your innovation plan you will be using to bring about change in your learning environment.
11. Self-differentiated leadership and bringing the organization process together: In this assignment, you will explain how being a self-differentiated leader will help you in organizing, presenting and leading the organization change process.
12. Creating Your Significant Learning Environment: In this assignment, you will need to create your response to A New Culture of Learning and outline how you will move toward creating significant learning environments.
13. Creating Your Learning Philosophy: In this assignment, you will outline and discuss your beliefs and practices about learning. Dwayne Harapnuik's Learning Philosophy (linked below) focuses first on the learning and argues that he is a learning facilitator rather than a teacher. Regardless of your position on learning and teaching, creating a learning philosophy will force you to think through and define your beliefs about learning and your role in creating significant learning environments.
15. UbD Design Template: In this assignment, you will create a UbD Template and reflect on how the design process adds to your innovation planning. If is important to remember that building planning documents provide an overview or gestaldt of your learning environment. The UbD Template also provides a design framework that can be used to check the alignment of the outcomes/goals, assessments and activities and to see how this unit or course fits into a larger context. While you have been asked to only read the Introduction, Chapters 1 & 3 of UbD you should use this text as a reference guide in this module and in the future and refer to the sections that can help you with your design document.
16. Developing a Growth Mindset Plan: In this assignment, you will create a plan for developing, promoting, and supporting a growth mindset in your learners.
17. Innovation Presentation: In EDLD 5305 you were asked review the literature on educational technology and disruptive innovation to look for trends and patterns that would support your innovation project. In this course you will once again go to the literature to learn from the success and mistakes of others .
18. Literature Review: In the first 3 weeks of this course you were required to review case studies and the literature on educational technology implementations create a presentation on what worked, what could be improved and the lessons learned. In this week you will take your research and findings and compile a formal literature review to support your presentation and your implementation plan.
19. Action Research Design Outline: Research is an interactive process and requires effective planning and design. In this assignment you are asked to create an action research design outline that will provide the structure and focus for your literature review and your fully developed action research plan.
20. Literatur Review: In the first three weeks of this course you were required to review the literature on educational technology implementations to find useful measurement strategies and Idea that could be applied to your action research plan. In this week you will take your research and findings and compile a formal literature review to support your action research plan.
21. Measurement Strategy & Connecting and Communicating Your Ideas: In EDLD 5305 you started your innovation planning process. In EDLD 5304 you created a plan for dealing with the cultural aspects of organizational change and also developed a 4DX plan as a foundation for your innovation implementation strategy. In EDLD 5313 you used backward design methods to develop plans for the innovative learning enhancements you plan to implement in your learning environment. In this course you are adding to this body of work by creating an action research plan to measure the effectiveness of your innovation plan.
